Abstract:
Currently, energy utilization of every kind of biomass on earth, especially marine biomass, is being studied. The growth rate of kelp which is generally known for marine biomass is significantly faster than other ones, and the amount of hydrocarbon per unit weight is more than 60% of its weight. The various minerals are also found in other parts. In hydrothermal condition, we treated kelp at 150–190 oC with and without salt. We determined the effect of NaCl on the behavior of Mg, Ca and Al.
