Abstract:

The performances of the machines depend, basically, by the crop morphology and its productivity. From logistic point of view is essential scheduling the harvesting operations. A comparative trial has been carried out in a field with the same operative harvesting conditions, by a self propelled chipper Claas Jaguar on five different SRF species (Salix alba, Eucalyptus occidentalis, Robinia pseudoacacia, Populus nigra and Fraxinus angustifolia). The aim of the study was to evaluate the performance of the self-propelled chipper in function of different productive levels. The machine performance was evaluated considering the effective work capacity (ha h-1) and the effective hourly production (t h-1). Turning times and dead times were excluded. The effective work productivity ranged from 36.13 t h-1 to 54.73 t h-1, for Salix alba and Populus nigra respectively.
