Abstract:
Anaerobic co-digestion process of pig manure with sorghum in Extremadura (Southwestern Spain) was assessed. It was compared the simple digestion of manure with codigestion of mixture of pig manure and sorghum. The methane yield obtained in the anaerobic codigestion from mixture was higher (175 ± 18 L CH4/kg SVo) than anaerobic digestion from manure (134 L CH4/kg SVo) after 23 days of the process. The study carried out in the characteristic parameters show a notable decrease for each experiment. Experiments in a pilot plant of 1.5 m3 of capacity have a similar behaviour to the experiments conducted at laboratory.
