Abstract:
Above-ground wood dy biomass is a central information for many stakehol lders like forestal or agricultural companies, environmen ntal organisations or institutions and decision-makers. Withhin the framework of “Forseen POMERANIA”, a german n-polish EU INTERREG IV A project, started in 2011, rem mote sensing data from Euroregion POMERANIA shall be used to derive such information and provide it in a publ lic accessible biomass information system. The region coovers about 40.000 km² and includes parts of the nort thwestern Poland and northeastern Germany. The goal of tthis project is to estimate overall wood biomass stocks in thee study area as well as other relevant forestry parameters, foor example the tree species composition of forests. In order to achive this, remote sensing data shall be connected to te errestrial datasets.
