Abstract:
This paper presents one of main technologies of increasing the share of the renewable energy sources in the general balance of fuels applied. The innovative gas generator developed at the Institute for Chemical Processing of Coal in Zabrze is presented along with a “dry” process gas cleaning installation and its combustion in a dualfuel internal combustion engine. The gas generator construction design is described and basic data of the reference fuel are also given. Both composition of the gas produced and main parameters of the gasification process are also presented. The amount of dust and organic pollution downstream the reactor as well the pollution load after leaving the gas clearing installation are characterized. Also, the impact of cofiring of gas in the dual fuel engine operation is discussed.
