Abstract:
In this study 10% (weight) Ni/ZrO2 catalyst which is used for supercritical water gasification (SCWG) of biomass, was synthesized by co¬precipitation method. Ni/ZrO2 catalysts were calcined at 500¬700 °C in dry air for 4¬6 hours and reduced at 500¬700 °C in %5 H2/N2 gas mixture for 1¬13 hours. The suitable calcination temperature and time (600°C and 5 hours), reduction temperature and time (700°C and 1 hour ) were determined. Catalysts were characterized by X¬ray diffraction (XRD), X¬ray fluorescence (XRF), Thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) and Brunauer¬Emmett¬Teller (BET) techniques.
