Abstract:
Based on the results of practical research in monitoring programmes in Germany the paper focusses on experiences and challenges of large scale agricultural and industrial biogas plants. This is relevant mainly for plants using agricultural substrates as residues, excrements and energy crops. Based on a deep knowledge and insight into German biogas research and international research activities an overview on necessities and activities for biogas research is summarised.
