Abstract:
The organic sulfur content of the producer gas from wood and grass gasification is presented. Measurements were conducted using a liquid quench based sampling system and a GC/SCD (gas chromatograph coupled with a sulfur chemiluminescence detector) for analysis of liquid samples generated. For grass gasification up to 33 different compounds have been detected in the producer gas, while for wood gasification, only 5 different compounds have been detected, in a much lower concentration. The influence of oxidizing agent in the SCD plasma burner is also evaluated.
