Abstract:

ANDRITZ AG, Environment & Process division together with other partners of the Austrian ACB consortium developed a torrefaction technology – the so called ACB Process. Development task has been defined to find an efficient and robust route to turn different biomass feedstock into a densified and torrefied biomass fuel product. Product quality, plant availability as well as plant safety are key targets. All process equipment are of proven design or at least are based on existing and industrially approved equipment. ANDRITZ AG, Environment & Process division will offer turn key production units of a single line capacity of 50.000 t/a focusing on decentralised fuel production projects. An ACB demonstration plant is currently under construction and start up will commence this summer.
