Abstract:
Waste wood has been gasified in the dual fluidised bed gasifier at Vienna University of Technology. This article sums up the experiences of the test runs and describes how they can be used for the design of a waste wood gasifier on industrial scale. During the experiments, the producer gas and flue gas composition are measured, as well as tars, dust and char. Experimental data is used for a simulation tool to calculate mass- and energy balances and to assess key parameters of the process. According to higher concentration of pollutants in waste wood the producer gas cleaning equipment of an industrial gasifier has to be designed accordingly.
