Abstract:
With the longterm operation of the FBRRgasification plant, a decomposition of tars at the noncatalytic hotgasfilter could be observed. In order to describe the tar decomposition mechanisms and their dependence on the hot char coal layer, the conversion of benzene, toluene and naphthalene as model substances was investigated at standard filter operation conditions in a laboratory reactor. The effect of homogenous gas phase reactions was additionally examined by equilibrium simulations with ASPEN.
