Abstract:
Analysis and monitoring of tar in producer gases is a topic going along with the efforts to reduce tar levels in biomass gasification processes. Well established methods such as tar guideline (CEN/TS 15439) or the SPAmethod allow for comparable results when operated well by trained personnel and the samples being analyzed in experienced laboratories. Online analysis methods which allow for short time optimization of the processes need even more expertise and require expensive and sensitive tools. Up to date no tar monitoring tool suiting the needs of gasifier developers is available at reasonable costs. This work presents the results of on-line real tar analyses acquired by a compact tar monitoring device.
