Abstract:
Extensive utilization of truck transportation of chip residues in a short transportation distance and country landform increases the transportation cost. Therefore it is important to study the transportation cost. This study intends to understand the biomass transportations and improve the transport process to reduce the transportation costs. We analyze the shredder forest biomass cost transportation, with normal humidity and possibility to compress the biomass chip residues in a truck transport to reduce transportation costs associated to the process. We observed that the transportation cost of shredder forest biomass depends on the biomass humidity, the size of biomass and transportation distance. The compression of biomass chip residues allows a reduction around 25% to 50% of the cost biomass transportation in a truck with different type of humidity and in different distance of transportation.
