Abstract:
The overall objective of the work under consideration is to develop a technology based on biomass gasification for sustainable, high-efficiency CHP production through coupling with a SOFC. Residual biomass and biogenic waste fractions are considered reference matrices. For low-value fractions, HTC pretreatment is considered to increase the range of feedstocks exploitable at the reactor, thus achieving greater overall flexibility. In this way, it will be possible to combine the exploitability of carbonaceous waste with increased opportunities for technology adoption. For the gasification technology, reference will be made to a prototype plant located at the ENEA Research Centre in Trisaia (Basilicata, Southern Italy).
