Abstract:
The LIFE project GENDER4POWER aims to improve the living conditions, financial stability, health, well-being, and energy efficiency of households affected by energy poverty through the demonstration and implementation of holistic, gender-responsive, multi-stakeholder, and people-centred solutions in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency. This paper presents the project’s main activities, its unique stakeholder engagement strategy built around community Shine On Ambassadors, and the key findings of its first knowledge outputs. These include country-specific and EU-level reports on the role of energy communities in fighting energy poverty, renovation challenges at the demonstrator level, gender-responsive approaches to energy poverty, and the implementation of the ambassadors’ programme. Taken together, the results highlight the critical importance of inclusive governance, gender-equitable programme design, and the removal of structural barriers as preconditions for a just and effective energy transition.
