Abstract:
This work focuses on the analysis of performance instabilities in a 15 MW biomass-fired power plant operating under nominal conditions. Plant performance was evaluated using data acquired from the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, which were processed through a methodology referred to as congruence analysis. This approach made it possible to distinguish between stationary and non-stationary signals and to perform the subsequent analysis accordingly. The main objective of the study was to identify cause–effect relationships by applying advanced data analysis techniques and to develop a data-driven model based on an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for biomass consumption prediction and plant diagnosis. The proposed methodology provides a systematic framework for understanding plant behaviour, identifying the main factors affecting performance, and supporting predictive maintenance and operational optimization.
