Abstract:
Aim of the contribution is to present the results of the investigated innovative technologies analysed in the SEMPRE-BIO project focusing on the economic evaluation of scale up plants. Based on the demo plants from SEMPRE-BIO, a scale-up strategy was developed in order to be able to make site-independent statements for the market entry of the developed technologies and to identify most interesting value chains. The scale up varies different plant sizes to consider small - medium – large scale plant sizes reflecting the market. The evaluation is based on relevant economic parameters collected and verified with the project partners to estimate CAPEX and OPEX of scale up plants. The assessment includes determining the specific costs of biomethane (LCOE in €/m³ biomethane). In addition to the cost analysis of innovative technologies, an assessment of the whole biomass chain comparing costs with potential revenues were conducted. The paper presents the methodology including the used assumptions of the cost analysis and the pre-final results within SEMPRE-BIO project. A special focus was put on the provision of green electricity for electrolysis for CS1.
