Abstract:
This paper presents the comprehensive outcomes and key insights from the SCALE-UP project, building upon the initial conceptual framework presented two years ago. The SCALE-UP project aims to foster community-driven bioeconomy development in European rural areas by supporting regional multi-actor partnerships in identifying and scaling-up innovative and sustainable bio-based value chains. This updated report details the project's methodologies, concrete results, and lessons learned across various project activities, including regional biomass assessments, information package development, capacity-building activities, small-scale business model implementation, social innovation initiatives, and student engagement programs. The findings demonstrate significant progress in enhancing regional bioeconomy potential, promoting sustainable practices, and fostering collaborative ecosystems for a circular bioeconomy in Europe.
