Abstract:
This study is inserted in a tradition of articles developed by reference authors in the area of Input-Output Matrix Analysis (IOM) and tax impacts in Brazil, such as COSTA & GUILHOTO (2010), GUILHOTO et ali (2017), and GUILHOTO &SESSO FILHO (2005). This study aims to respond the question what the impacts are of creating tax differentiation between gasoline C (GC) and hydrous ethanol (HE) - which took place in MT in 2022 – over the socioeconomic variables. This study innovates by adopting state input-output matrix (IOM) method with tax policy and price elasticity, adding technical rigor and simplicity. Results suggest the net effect of differentiating VAT rates for GC and HE are the increase in production, GDP and income. It proves tax policy exerts a high degree of impact on biofuel demand.
