Abstract:

In context of the gap in knowledge in the scale-up of pyrolysis combined gasification technology, this study focuses on the development of the in-house built pyrolysis combined gasification system and considers its viability for producing syngas. Ultimate and proximate analysis of the biomass (fish sludge) samples wasperformed to identify the concentration of compounds present in the biomass samples, and to determine the fixed carbon, volatile matter, and ash content, respectively. This research examines biomass kinetics using thermogravimetric and mass spectrometric (TG-MS) analysis at various temperature ranges. Experiments were carried out in an Argon environment followed by reaction with steam at different temperatures (650-1000°C). Using the First-order kinetic model, the activation energy and Arrhenius constant of the biomass samples were estimated.
