Abstract:
Despite a plethora of scientific papers on phytoremediation, there is still a scarcity of phytoremediation projects that have been implemented on a full scale. This indicates a knowledge gap regarding whether the phytoremediation capacity obtained in a controlled environment can also be obtained under genuine conditions. The aim of this study is to discuss the differences between pot tests conducted in greenhouse conditions and follow-up field trials conducted at a historically contaminated site that both use the same set of fertilizers, microbiological additives, and plant species.
