Abstract:
The paper deals with the economic, energy and environmental context of agricultural production in the Czech Republic, ensuring soil quality in the long term, food production, energy and animal nutrition. Based on the available information, we compared the need for annual input of organic matter (OM) into the soil in the Czech Republic (2 and 4 t/ha of OM), of which about 40 % should be provided by organic manures. The work is based on the methodological basis of the balance of production of individual crops and evaluates the economic, energy and environmental impacts of individual crops to ensure the necessary level of OM inputs into the soil. Individual crops cover the needs of food production, including animal husbandry, the need for existing biogas plants and also serve as a source of OM. In the case of securing 2 t OM/ha, a sufficient input of MO is ensured. In the case of 4 t OM/ha, sufficient input is ensured only in the fertile areas of the Czech Republic.
