Abstract:
Aquatic macrophytes present as main characteristic the capacity of rapid multiplication allowing its use as raw material in thermochemical processes for biogas, bio-oil and biochar production. Temperature of thermochemical processes can influence the organic compounds being formed depending on the biomass chemical composition. Analytical pyrolysis was performed for Eichhornia crassipes at 450°C, 750°C and 1000°C, remaining constant the residence time and equipmente setup. Accoording to results, it is produced linear compounds at 450 °C and a several aromatic compounds at 750 °C and 1000 °C. Those chemicals are considered raw material for bio-fuels, polymers and pesticides production.
