Abstract:
This paper deals with the problems related to cultivation of algae. The work is divided into two parts. The first one describes the theory of light intensity and its wave length on algae growth kinetics. The second part is devoted to the experiments. As the model microorganism the algae Chlamydomonas reinhardtii was used. The experiments were realised in the two parallel bioreactors with the volume 3 liters of cultivation media TAP. Each vessel was mixed and the same intensity of the light was applied. But each vessel had the light of a different wave length. The first one had the warm light with chromaticity temperature 6500 K the other one had the cold light with 2700 K. The period of all experiments was seven days. Every 24 hours the specimens were taken from the vessels and using hemocytometer the population of algae was calculated. This procedure was repeated with the three intensity of the light. The growth kinetics was determined for each chromaticity temperature and intensity of the light.
