Abstract:

In order to facilitate atmospheric bubbling fluidized bed (ABFB) biomass gasification plant operators, a process model for using the AspenPlusTM simulator is required. Such models have been used in the past to predict the operation of small scale laboratory facilities but scarcely for larger systems. To generate the experimental data for the model validation, specific tests were carried out at CIUDENīs 3 MWth air blown, atmospheric, fluidized-bed gasifier with wood chips as fuel. The data provided concern the basic operating parameters, such as temperature, operating pressure and mass flow rates of material streams, while the output of the model targets on the prediction of syngas composition for the air-blown gasification of wood in the BFB reactor.
