Abstract:
This paper presents a case study of an agro-industrial company from Timis County, Romania, that develops integrated process covering the agriculture farming, animal breeding and food production. The basic process is pigs’ live stack. Considering the restrictive EU regulation that must to be fulfilled in the near future concerning the soils protection, the Anaerobic Digestion (AD) process is one of the key solutions for organic wastes stabilization generated by agro-industrial stakeholders. In addition of that, the greenhouse effect is mitigating by capturing the CH4 and energy recovery into CHP units is also a key issue, pointing out the renewable energy resources exploiting. The present research underlines the energy recovery potential from waste, by lab scale analyzes of biochemical methane potential (BMP) investigation of the analyzed organic waste.
