Abstract:
Up until now, there are three typical raw material plans for Danish bioethanol special program. They are separately: wheat (starch), straw (C5+C6 mixed sugar) and a brand new HS-Juice (sugar) plan. This paper presents the calculation and analysis of the effect of raw material characteristics on bioethanol project. In comparing fermentable sugars and raw material characteristics data of feed quantity, etc., it has proven that the fermentation technology of cellulosic ethanol is already very mature and also with an obvious raw material cost advantage. But, raw material volume data have proven: assume the raw material volume is directly proportional to equipment number, plant scale and investment amount. Under the same production rate conditions, scale and investment amount of straw ethanol factory shall be 7 times of wheat ethanol factory. Thus, cellulosic ethanol project is not feasible. Cellulosic ethanol is not an inexpensive biofuel too. Even though HS-Juice ethanol is feasible, but, it may still need the political authentication of European Commission.
