Abstract:
Elevated methane yields are essential to get an optimum use of biogas as a gaseous biofuel. Rapeseed oil is chosen as co-substrate to enhance the methane production in anaerobic co-digestion process due to its high carbon content. Different substrates ratio have been employed in the feedstock of co-digestion anaerobic experiments in semi-continuous regime. The most productive experiment have generated methane yield of 750 L CH4 g VSadded-1 with rapeseed oil. Finally, replicas have been carried out on a large scale to get the optimization of the best experiment obtained previously, and their methane yields have been between 349 L CH4 g VSadded-1 (feedstock without rapeseed oil) and 593 L CH4 g VSadded-1 (feedstock with rapeseed oil).
