Abstract:
Shochu residue is distillation waste produced during shochu (Japanese distilled liquor) production. It is wet biomass to be decomposed. Supercritical water gasification at 600 oC, 25 MPa allows its conversion to fuel gas, which is further used for production of heat needed for distillation. It is composed of solid and liquid components, which should behave differently in supercritical water. Liquid component as well as whole shochu residue was gasified in supercritical water, and reaction network was proposed. The reaction rate constant for each reaction was also determined. The determined rate constants well reproduced the experimental result.
