Abstract:
In order to assess the potential of biogenic residues as fuels, it is important to carry out practical tests in combustion plants. It was aimed at gaining detailed information on the combustion behavior of the feedstocks. The emission levels of particulate matter, NOX, SO2, HCl and CO were measured during practical combustion tests. In addition to the standard fuel analytics various complementary tests were performed to gain comprehensive information about the feedstocks. In the end it was evaluated, if the tested furnace is able to deal with the examined feedstocks. Moreover the implementations of different optimization measures are being discussed and tested.
