Abstract:
The importance of bioenergy in the future energy supply was shown in many studies. The agricultural production of energy crops is in competition to food production and discussed controversial. Therefore the academic and commercial research is focused on waste or residue biomass. A promising conversion technology for the production of liquid fuels from residue biomass is a combination of intermediate pyrolysis with integrated reforming, the Thermo-catalytic reforming (TCRŽ). For this work bio-oil from digestate was produced by Thermo-catalytic reforming (TCRŽ). The bio-oil was hydrogenated at temperatures of 230 °C to 370 °C and a pressure of 14 MPa. For hydrogenation an industrial NiMo-Al2O3 catalyst was used. The high quality of products form Thermo-catalytic reforming was already presented at EU BC&E 2014. Upgrading of the TCRŽ bio-oil offers the option to meet high standards of common fuels.
