Abstract:
This paper presents the preliminary results of a comparison of the techno-economic performance of the conversion technologies for the production of renewable jet fuel (RJF). RJF produced via the Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids (HEFA) pathway is currently the best option as it shows the lowest minimum fuel selling price and is produced on a commercial scale already. HTL and pyrolysis emerge as the most economically feasible alternatives for HEFA RJF on the short term.
