Abstract:

Biomass consumption structure analysis shows that recently large part of biofuel is consumed in households sector. Therefore, it is very important to improve the parameters of heating appliances used for residential heating. The investigation of the emissions variation dependence on the different size of logs in biomass stove is presented in this poster. The investigation of different size logs combustion in biomass stove was conducted in order to determine the impact of the size on the efficiency and emissions, such as carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrocarbons (CxHy), nitrogen oxides (NOx). During experiments thermal parameters and composition of combustion products was continuously recorded to gather information for further improvement actions. Proper selection of logs sizes could have influence on reduction of combustion products and minimal increase of the efficiency. The carbon monoxides (CO) exhaustion could be reduced up to 30 % and hydrocarbon (HxCy) even up to 50 %.
