Abstract:

In the town of “San Juan del Puerto (Huelva)” inside ENCE’s Industrial Facility with a Pulp mill, the largest Power Plant (50MWe installed) with forest biomass as main fuel has been built by OHL Industrial– belonging to OHL group- following the best engineering practices and with important environmental improvements that will be described later. Currently this plant is also operated by OHL Industrial successfully since February 2013 with a daily biomass supply provided by ENCE, the plant owner. The guaranteed electric production is approximately 370.000 MWh/year by means of a steam turbine with overheated high pressure steam generated in fluidized bed boiler. To achieve the expected production, about 366.000 tons of biomass is required. The sale of this energy is directly managed by the owner ENCE.
