Abstract:
Agriculture, and by this biomass production, is influenced by an array of different factors. One of the most important factors is a Resource optimized production on one side and, on the other side an effective utilisation of the produced biomass resources. The task of a future, sustainable agriculture will be to adapt to these changes. Furthermore, the produced biomass will be utilised in a number of new fields of application as raw material. This creates a great demand for biomass, but also new competitive situations. The agriculture of the future is facing numerous tasks and challenges. However, many of its goals are diametrically opposed to one another, so that the greatest performance will be to find a consensus incorporating, as many goals as possible and damages, on the other hand, will be kept to a manageable level.
