Good news regarding gender balance at the EUBCE

Women play an important role in the science and technology of renewable energies, concludes IRENA, the International Renewable Energy Agency. In their recent study they demonstrate that 32% of the workforce in renewable energy are women.
We are very happy that with the EUBCE we are slightly above this figure. On all levels of participation (abstract submissions, posters and oral presentations, registrations) the EUBCE gives women at least 33% share.
And more than 40% of the young scientists, and even 50% of our awardees (posters, best Students) are female.
These figures exceed UNESCO studies and put the EUBCE in the forefront of the European Commission’s priority of female participation in Horizon 2020 projects.
