Prof. Ing. David Chiaramonti
President RE-CORD,
University of Florence, Industrial Engineering Dept., Italy
is the Linneborn Prize 2017 winner

“For over 22 years David has shown consistent excellence in research and management of implementation of renewable energy with strong focus on biomass. He showed remarkable results in the R&D of thermochemical conversion processes of biomass and the production and implementation of biofuels at pilot and demo scale. He provided inspiring and effective leadership in large national and international co-operation projects in these areas (supported by Institutions as EC, Asian Development Bank, It. Min. for Environment etc.). Moreover he delivered important and much appreciated intellectual and leadership contributions to international and National organizations like IEA-Bioenergy, UN-ICAO CAEP AFTF, EABA, ESBF, DBFZ, Ministries for Environment/Agriculture/Research, ENAC, Accademia dei Georgofili, etc...”

The Linneborn Prize will be awarded on Monday, 12 June 2017, during the Opening of the Conference in the Main Auditorium.

European Linneborn Prize for Outstanding Merits in Biomass
The European Biomass Prize for Outstanding Merits in Biomass is being awarded on the occasion of the EUBCE Conference. This prize was established by the European Commission in 1994 for outstanding contributions to the development of energy from biomass. The Prize is named in honour of Johannes Linneborn, a pioneer of wood gasification. Deeply rooted in human ethics, he had far-reaching visions on the world's development, on health, transport and agriculture.

Congratulations to the 2017 Student Awards Winners!
