Call for Papers: an invitation for members of industry
pfeil

Dear Bioenergy technology developer and industry representative, the ambitious objectives of the recast of the Renewable Energy Directive and the aspiring targets of the Paris Agreement have placed significant responsibilities and at the same time important obligations to all of us in view of decarbonising the EU economy across all sectors towards a clean energy transition.

The EU industry and research community are leaders and, I dare say, the world number one in bioenergy and this is thanks to your efforts. With this background it is imperative to work hand in hand with the research community enabling to maintain your leadership role.

The EUBCE has long become a world leading event for the biomass and bioenergy sectors based on a global forum for exchanging knowledge, debating policy options and addressing innovation in an open forum. Against this background, the EUBCE aims to highlight the role of the technology developers and industry across all sessions and topics of the programme.

I therefore take the liberty to invite you to submit an abstract and participate at the EUBCE 2019 in Lisbon. The call for papers is open until 5th November 2018. The scientific committee will be strengthened by experts with technology and industrial expertise who will take the responsibility to review and select the best keynote, plenary and visual presentations in a high scientific level conference programme.

I look forward seeing you in Lisbon.

With my best regards,

Kyriakos Maniatis
Industry Committee Coordinator,
European Commission, DG ENER

Lead the path to Biomass & Bioenergy

The EUBCE aims to set the bridge between the scientific and the industry communities and support policy makers, thus representing a vital reference for all the stakeholders involved in the field of biomass and bioenergy.

Knowledge transfer, sharing of best practice and networking are key tools in the valorisation of the latest R&D findings and demonstration projects, in the attainment of an increased visibility in the industry as well as in the constitution of new partnerships. To support this virtuous circle, an extensive tool has been created within the context of the EUBCE.

The EUBCE Conference Proceedings website gathers all accepted papers of plenary, oral and visual sessions as well as slide presentations, poster presentations and video files of selected sessions since the 18th EUBCE in 2010. This platform hosts more than 3,300 innovative full papers specially chosen by a specific committee of experts in the sector, for about 20,000 pages of high-level scientific and technical quality knowledge. Together with more than 4,000 slide presentations, posters and additional contents, it therefore constitutes a real reference book in the field of biomass and bioenergy.

The EUBCE Conference adopted a policy in line with EU full open access strategy to provide the maximum availability, visibility and citability of conference proceedings.

About 1,000 papers have been indexed on Scopus (the world’s largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviews research literature) since the 24th EUBCE in 2016.

Furthermore, a selected number of the highest-scored abstracts from 27th EUBCE will have the opportunity to be published by renowned scientific journals.

Submit an abstract by 5th November 2018

The Conference will be structured along the following main topics:

1.BIOMASS RESOURCES
2.BIOMASS CONVERSION TECHNOLOGIES FOR HEATING, COOLING AND ELECTRICITY
3.BIOMASS CONVERSION TECHNOLOGIES FOR ENERGY CARRIERS, CHEMICALS AND MATERIALS
4.BIOMASS SUSTAINABILITY, IMPACTS AND POLICIES
5.BIOENERGY INTEGRATION IN ENERGY SYSTEMS
