Call for Parallel Events, Workshops and Project Meetings

Among the many activities of the 23rd EUBCE will be 4 parallel events focusing on dedicated subjects of particular interest for the stakeholders. In order to give the opportunity to the stakeholders to be engaged in structuring the conference, the call for proposals is open for these parallel events. Suggestions for Parallel Events, considered as official complementing events of the conference are welcome.

You may also organise a workshop or a project meeting or your own event during the 23rd EUBCE.
This would get you good exposure in a biomass event with over 1.500 participants from both research and industry without the high cost of participating in and organising your own event in a separate context.

For more information on organising these events, click here.

Why the EUBCE in Vienna?

  • The Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center is a inner city location, served by two underground stations and just 20 minutes by car from Vienna International Airport. It is located in an idyllic setting between the Prater park and the nearby Danube.

  • Austria has a long established and acknowledged tradition in research and implementation of sustainable bioenergy systems. Vienna hosts some of the world's most active research organizations in the biomass sector

  • Austria is a world leader in the efficient use of wood for heating, cooling and combined heat and power at small and large scale, and several providers of advanced technologies for biomass pre-treatment and use are located in Austria.

  • Austria is also becoming a leading country in the efficient production and use of agricultural biogas, with over 300 plants already in operation producing 550 GWh of electricity annually and a rapidly increasing number of biogas upgrading units injecting biomethane into the natural gas grid.

  • Vienna is an important trading hub for wood products and wood pellets and represents a strategic venue to interact with experts from Eastern European countries with abundant biomass resources and a considerable potential for bioenergy development.
