After two editions held in an online-only-format, it is our pleasure to announce that the next, 31st EUBCE will be a real, in-person event!
We are all looking forward to the next edition in Bologna, from the 5th to the 8th of June next year.

Again, the EUBCE 2023 will be the scientific & industry-focused conference with an exhibition you all have been used to before the pandemic, with hosted events and side sessions where you will meet again colleagues, friends and new personalities. We will try to keep some of the interactive features we introduced in the online-platforms of the past years, mostly to give young researchers from abroad an opportunity to become also part of the EUBCE community. But most of all, we are looking forward to a REAL podium, where after the presenters made eye contact to the audience, we can all hear the applause, where we will enjoy to stroll through the poster rows and to see what is on display in the exhibition.

The programme will be with certainty influenced by the current European energy situation, including the challenges of current and future hot and dry conditions the European Bioenergy industries is facing.

After ten years the EUBCE comes again to Italy, a country in which the bioeconomy has a strong footing. Regarding the Italian Agro-economy, we will also dedicate special presentations to the rising star of the Italian renewables’ landscape: “Agrivoltaics”, which finally reconciles land-use for agriculture and solar fields.

We are proud that Bologna, the Italian cradle of science and education will host he EUBCE. Home to the oldest University in the world, it is also capital of the Emilia-Romagna Region in Northern Italy, known for its rich agriculture and the centrepiece of the Italian agro-industry. Moreover, its preserved historical centre hosts with its shadow-giving porticoes an UNESCO World-heritage site, and is also a UNESCO City of Music.

It is very timely that the EUBCE will be held on-site after three challenging, but also successful years.

We are looking forward to meet you in Bologna next June!
