Denmark hosts the EUBCE 2018 - 26th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition, from 14 to 18 May 2018

Biomass utilisation for multitude of products continues to grow in the rapidly developing bioeconomy. This growth brings many new challenges with the scaling up of existing technologies and the emergence of new ones that benefit from new innovations. Biomass provides a vital source of renewable energy, fuels, chemicals and materials for replacing fossil fuels that are responsible for a large part of the climate change we are already experiencing. In Stockholm at the 25th EUBCE the key question of "the indispensable role of biomass" was at the centre of key political, industrial and scientific discussions during opening, throughout the conference, and closing the conference.

We now look forward to the 26th EUBCE in 2018 in Denmark and to the many vibrant topics that will be included in the agenda. The core of the traditional EUBCE conference will be held over 4 days. There will however be an extension to the core conference and exhibition in order to showcase the many achievements in the field of full scale biomass utilisation in Denmark that are an integral and major part of the country becoming fossil-free by 2050. Members of the national organising committee will organise special technical visits to sites in the centre of the country where biomass is the key renewable feedstock into processes producing renewable energy, biofuels, biochemicals and biomaterials as well as integrating bioproducts into traditional established fossil-based systems.

We hope that you will take advantage not only of the well established annual EUBCE event in 2018, but also of the added opportunity to get close to the fruits of well designed polices and the deployment of scaled up biomass utilisation technologies in Denmark in May 2018.

Welcome from the Host Country

Denmark is very pleased to host the EUBCE 2018

I would like to thank you for considering Copenhagen as a possible destination to host the 26th European Biomass Conference in May 2018. I am sure that it will be an interesting event and that Denmark will be a good host country with our vast experience with using biomass in the heating system.

I would be happy to deliver a speech at the European Biomass Conference.

I am looking forward to welcoming this big and interesting event to Copenhagen.

The Minister

Lars Chr. Lilleholt

Utilities and Climate

Call for Papers 2018: Conference Topics
pfeil

Be part of the cutting edge of research and innovation for biomass, their application and integration. Strengthen your network with the biomass research community, industry, investors in innovations and policy makers.

Contributions are welcome on all aspects of biomass.

The Conference will be structured along the following main topics:

1.BIOMASS RESOURCES
2.BIOMASS CONVERSION TECHNOLOGIES FOR HEATING, COOLING AND ELECTRICITY
3.BIOMASS CONVERSION TECHNOLOGIES FOR FUELS, CHEMICALS AND MATERIALS
4.BIOMASS POLICIES, MARKETS AND SUSTAINABILITY
5.BIOENERGY INTEGRATION IN ENERGY SYSTEMS

Apply for Student Awards 2018

To encourage high-quality work amongst young researchers, the EUBCE Students Awards will be presented in recognition of the most remarkable and outstanding research work in the field of Biomass.

Received applications will be reviewed and scored by the International Scientific Committee, made up of leading research and industry experts from the Global Biomass Community.
Conference Proceedings

EUBCE conference proceedings have a high reputation in the sector. All submitted papers of plenary, oral and visual presentations will published on-line with a full open access policy on the EUBCE Proceedings website. The proceedings are currently indexed by SCOPUS and WOS - Conference Proceedings Citation Index – Science.

Citability of Papers

Papers in the conference proceedings are coded by a digital identifier (DOI code) provided by the German National Library of Science and Technology. This guarantees an unequivocal and permanent identification and citability.

Apply for Journal Publication - Partnership with Biomass & Bioenergy

Each year, the Scientific Committee selects a number of abstracts to be submitted as full-length journal papers for peer review and publication by the renowned scientific journal Biomass & Bioenergy. The paper will be as well included in the EUBCE Proceedings.
