Topic 2: Biomass Technologies and Conversion for Bioenergy
Monday 27 April
The oral sessions for Topic 2 start at 13:30 with Topic 2.1, “Production and Supply of Solid Fuels and Intermediates”. The first session (2AO.2) is entitled “Production, Characterization and Quality of Solid Biofuels” and covers the development of innovative methods for solid biofuels characterization, factors influencing fuels quality, biomass management procedures to improve the fuel quality, as well as the combustion behaviour of solid biofuels. Examples include pellet production from underexploited forest and agricultural feedstocks and reduction of dry matter losses during industrial scale wood chips storage by using calcium hydroxide as additive.
Stay tuned for our preview of Topic 3: Biomass technologies and conversion to intermediate bioenergy carriers and products of the bioeconomy next week!

|
|
Free of charge upon registration
