Live Event: Biomass and the challenge of energy security. Speaker: Heinz Ossenbrink

As a consequence of the current war in the Ukraine the dependency of Europe on fossil fuel imports from Russia became known to everybody, much beyond the expert level. The unique feature of all renewable resources, to diversify supply and even produce locally influenced headlines in the daily news. Some political personalities who until recently were more than skeptic speak even of “freedom energy” when it comes to renewables. Certainly for the community of renewable energies, and in particular those active in Biomass at large this is not surprising.

This live event wants to stimulate a discussion about the opportunities which the threefold benefits of Biomass (Security of supply, GHG reduction goals, job creation through technology roll-out) can give. There will be challenges ahead which the Biomass community will discuss at the occasion of the upcoming 30th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition in May, but already now we could chat about issues like timeframes, costs, competing agricultures, Biogas progress and potential.

We are very much looking forward to discuss with the participants how the current political crisis has multiple facets which justify a comprehensive view.

Showcase your EU project at EUBCE 2022

With a programme coordinated by the European Commission Joint Research Centre and CBE JU | Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking, EUBCE’s 30th edition is seeking to highlight EU projects leading the future of biomass and bioeconomy today.

To do this, EUBCE 2022 is creating a dedicated EU Project Zone. An initiative with opportunities bringing must deserved attention to projects focused on advancing technologies, applications, and solutions for the sourcing, production, and utility of biomass and bioeconomy.

As such,
please consider EUBCE 2022 as a perfect and strategic
communication and dissemination opportunity for your EU project.

By participating in EUBCE this May you can reach 8000 relevant stakeholders from across 90 countries without leaving your office. Reaching the right audience, and, a large audience.

The conference itself will also include sessions about EU grants and funding opportunities, as well as relevant policy debates.

For more information see the EU Project Zone brochure now.
